Who is Violet Clark?

Many years ago, I came across a couple of old paperback diaries from 1923 and 1924 that belonged to a girl named Violet Clark from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. The books themselves were ad-laden freebies from A.B.Wykoff's Department Store. Many of the sporadic entries are simple retellings of the day's events, often in one line, at least at the start.

I developed a mild obsession with this window to the past and decided to share these two years of her life with the world, or whatever teeny bit of it that will come across this blog.

Everything I write is what she wrote, misspellings and shorthand included. I'm illustrating this blog with images contemporary to Violet, found by googling some of the key words in her entries.
